Fire on Sandstone Novel

This novel is of a 'Historical Fiction' genre about a young white girl who grew up with Native Americans due to a home fire as a child. It takes place at the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876. She fleas the war and gets taken again by a man that she falls in love with as he is different from the rest, protecting her from harm. During the war, her gift of multiple languages finds meaning to the white men.
